With an impressive profile built over more than 20 years, the music and live performances of Berlin's dance icon Alle Farben (birth name Frans Zimmer) have been elevated to new heights with each step, now reaching the top echelons of dance exports ``Made in Germany``.

His consistent prominence has led to a string of hit singles amassing over 2 billion streams, 25 million Shazams, and more than 35 diamond, platinum, and gold certifications across Europe and beyond. Simultaneously, Alle Farben has landed 15+ airplay top-10 hits in Europe, including five number-one hits in Germany and 14 number one placements all around Europe.

In 2017, he won the German Music Award ECHO for „Best Dance National“ after being nominated in the same category in 2015. Furthermore, Alle Farben has received a total of six nominations for the German Radio Award 1LIVE Krone.

More recently, in 2023, Alle Farben released a significant number of hit singles, including his smash hit „Good Morning“ with Timmy Trumpet, which was appointed the official anthem of the Parookaville Festival 2023. In January 2024, Alle Farben continued his tireless output, collaborating with Lewis Thompson and Mae Muller on „Love Hurt Repeat,“ which also became the soundtrack for the popular German television show „Ich bin ein Star…Holt mich hier raus!“.

With over 100 live shows per year, he has already graced the main stages of Europe’s biggest festivals, including the legendary Tomorrowland Festival, the multimedia Lollapalooza in both Berlin and Chicago, the hot newcomer Glücksgefühle Festival, and the Eastern European giant Sziget Festival.

FAQ

Who can take part in REMIX.RUHR?

Everyone!

How do I take part in the competition?

Register via login and download the stems from April 4 at 6 p.m. and you’re ready to go.

Where can I download the stems?

With your nickname and password you can download the stems of Alle Farben from our website from April 4th at 6 pm.

Am I allowed to edit the stems with AI tools (e.g. ChatGPT, Mubert, Suno)?

No, it is expressly forbidden to edit the files with AI. The reservation of rights and reservation of use of the authors and rights holders applies. The files may therefore not be made available to an AI (not even for training purposes). Of course, we are also most happy about remixes that are the result of your own creativity.

Can I submit several remixes?

Yes, if you would like to submit more than one remix, you will need to register with a different nickname and receive another Producer ID.

Can teams also take part?

Everything is allowed: from (music) schools to leisure centers or other institutions to hobby crews.

What format must my remix have?

MP3 encoded at max. 320 kbps and up to a maximum length of 10 minutes. Remixes in other formats or longer tracks will be rejected. Shorter than 10 minutes is completely ok.

Can I correct my uploaded remix afterwards?

Yes, you can upload your remix with your nickname as many times as you like until April 6th at 6 pm. When you upload again, you will always overwrite your previous version. We only accept one remix version per nickname.

Can I share my remix on social media platforms?

Not as a file on social media platforms – this is only possible on this website. It is permitted to link to www.REMIX.ruhr on social media and other platforms on the internet.

How do you rate the best tracks?

A jury of professionals from the music industry and Alle Farben themselves vote for the best remixes. The jury evaluates musicality, creativity, originality and professional craftsmanship, among other things.

What can I actually win?

You can win one of many prizes, including

  • Hardware for your recording studio
  • Exclusive courses to expand your expertise
  • Studio days for your next project
  • Publication of your remix

Do I have to pay anything to take part?

No! Participation is completely free for you!

Who is behind REMIX.RUHR?

The contest is backed by the public music schools in the Ruhr region. They have networked as “RuhrMusikSchulen” and are working together on the digitalization of music schools. In the future music school 4.0, online lessons, new music styles and technology, modern course formats such as special coaching sessions with professionals from the music scene and innovative competitions are to become standard.

These are the people behind REMIX.ruhr:

  • Aneta: Lyrics
  • Nadine: Social media
  • Lukas: Social media
  • Manfred: concept, fundraising, web admin
  • Carsten: concept, fundraising, jury management
  • Marcus: Concept, fundraising, jury management
  • Andreas: design, web admin, support

Why are you organizing REMIX.RUHR?

Digitization, new media and worldwide networking via www have also influenced the work of public music schools, and not just since Corona. The music schools in the Ruhr region are determined to take advantage of the opportunities that digitization offers for music and music learning and are expanding their range of courses for those interested in music. Together in the “RuhrMusikschulen” network, the institutions are developing innovative forms of teaching such as instrumental lessons via video chat or creating modern courses – for example for electronic music production. The REMIX.ruhr contest is part of the larger overall concept for the digitalization of music schools – its idea remains committed to the fundamental goal of music schools: Bringing people and music together and offering professional support in the process.
